Outstanding Warrants in Boone County
The Boone County Sheriff's Office is the main official channel for publishing outstanding warrants locally. Its Warrants page features Wanted Wednesday through Crime Stoppers and may offer downloadable reports on Outstanding Warrants or Body Attachments & Promise to Appear. The sheriff says the lists are updated regularly and must be verified through the appropriate agency. An entry counts as active or outstanding until the issuing authority records service, recall, or another clearance. Public listings lag. A court event may have happened before the web page caught up, and an entry can vanish from the page while the court process still demands action. Only the responsible court or law-enforcement source can confirm the current status of a Boone County warrant.
Boone County's Curated Publication
Treat the sheriff's page as curated, not as a searchable live database of Boone County warrants. The material on it shifts over time. Wanted Wednesday is a selected monthly public-safety poster, not a full Boone County active warrant list. An Outstanding Warrants report carries a broader label, while Body Attachments & Promise to Appear covers a separate court-directed appearance or custody process. Keep the labels straight rather than merging them, and note the publication date or last-updated statement on anything you find. Then confirm the issuing agency and the case before drawing conclusions.
Key limit: Absence from the Boone County Sheriff's publication is not proof that no active warrant exists.
The Boone County Active Warrant List
The official page calls its lists updated regularly but promises no fixed day, time, or real-time guarantee. A warrant issued after a report was prepared may not appear yet. A served or recalled warrant can linger until the next publication cycle. Sealed, juvenile, and other confidential matters in Boone County may never be public at all.
Note: “Updated regularly” does not promise live Boone County warrant status or full coverage of every issuing court.
Use the list as a lead, not an endpoint. Compare any lawful public entry against Indiana MyCase, identify the court, and ask that court or the Clerk what later action appears. The Boone County Sheriff's FAQ also offers an in-person ID check of your own status. Warrant information is not given by telephone.
Boone County Warrant Labels
The headings on Boone County's warrant page carry distinct meanings. Read them with care. That habit keeps a broad "wanted" label from standing in for the actual court process, since the legal result depends on the source record and its current status.
- Active or outstanding
- Issued and not yet confirmed as served, recalled, quashed, or cleared.
- Bench warrant
- A judge's warrant often tied to a missed hearing or unmet court duty.
- Body attachment
- A court-directed custody or appearance process that must be verified with the issuing court.
- Promise to appear
- An undertaking to return to court, not proof that a case is resolved.
- Recall
- The issuing court's withdrawal of its warrant.
Boone County's own warrant materials do not use the term "capias pro fine." Trust the local terms the record itself shows.
Active Warrants: What They Show
A published entry or public case record may reveal enough to identify the issuing source. Fields vary. Some are redacted, and a current PDF may not be posted at all. Read any status label alongside its publication date in Boone County, never as an undated fact.
| Publication date | When the report or poster was issued |
|---|---|
| Case or record reference | A cause number, agency reference, or lawful public identifier |
| Process type | Outstanding warrant, body attachment, or promise-to-appear material |
| Issuing source | The court or agency tied to the record |
| Alleged charge | The public allegation, not a conviction |
| Status or warning | The published label, verification direction, and safety notice |
Do not copy a name, photo, address, birth date, or other identifier into a separate roster. Keep the official Boone County source to its civic purpose: verification or safe tip reporting.
Verify Boone County Warrant Entries
A sound warrant check follows the record from publication to court. Search Indiana MyCase with the cause number. Then contact the Boone County Clerk or the court shown, and remember that an open case alone does not prove a warrant remains active. The official Boone County Clerk page describes the Clerk's record and payment duties.

The Clerk sits at 212 Courthouse Square in Lebanon. The office lists 765-482-3510 with weekday hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Give staff the cause number, and they can route a Boone County question to Circuit, Superior I, Superior II, or another current court.
Boone County Warrant Roundups
Boone County runs no criminal-warrant amnesty, safe-surrender week, or warrant roundup that any official notice announces. Tax-warrant payment routes are separate and offer no criminal-warrant relief. Trust a future event only when a current county, court, or Sheriff's notice spells out its terms. What Boone does publish is Wanted Wednesday with Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana. That program uses a monthly poster of selected individuals and may pay up to $1,000 for information leading to arrest. It is not a complete active-warrant list.
Official publication: Review the Boone Sheriff Warrants page for the current program and its safety instructions.
Never approach, follow, threaten, or attempt to apprehend anyone shown. Submit a tip through Crime Stoppers or the official Sheriff's route.
Boone County Warrant Service
The Boone County Sheriff's Enforcement Division serves arrest warrants and other papers countywide. Its stated coverage spans 428 square miles. A warrant can begin in one of three county criminal filing courts, a current town court, another Indiana jurisdiction, or a federal court, and the issuing source tells you which record to check. The official Enforcement Division page explains the countywide service role.

Service is not issuance. The court issues the warrant, the Clerk keeps the records, and officers carry out service. Later court action in Boone County records the next legal step.
Boone County Warrant Activity
The 2024 Sheriff's annual report counted 344 arrests and sorted them into rounded categories: 26 percent felony warrants, 18 percent misdemeanor warrants, 3 percent other warrants, 22 percent felony arrests, and 31 percent misdemeanor arrests. Those numbers describe one agency's year of arrest work. They do not count every active warrant. Published totals age quickly. The official report index holds the annual and quarterly publications behind these Boone County figures.

Quarterly Criminal Intelligence Unit counts measure work, not inventory. The first quarter of 2025 posted five warrant services and six arrests, while the third quarter posted three warrant arrests among nine unit arrests. Neither is a live Boone County warrant total.
Boone County Status Cross-Check
A published Boone County list answers one question: what the Sheriff chose to post that day. MyCase shows public case activity instead. The court itself answers whether its order still stands. Cross-checking guards against stale dates and mistaken assumptions about warrant status.
| Source | What It Can Show | What It Cannot Prove Alone |
|---|---|---|
| Sheriff publication | A curated warrant or publicity entry | Complete county coverage |
| Indiana MyCase | Public case and event history | Live law-enforcement status |
| County Clerk | Filed orders, dates, court, and payment records | Guaranteed release or recall |
| Issuing court | Current court process and instructions | Another jurisdiction's warrant status |
Indiana offers no single statewide criminal-warrant database; the state's e-Tax Warrant tools address tax collection only, leaving a Boone County warrant check to local offices.
Boone County Posted Court Costs
Costs, bond, and warrant status answer different questions. Keep the three separate. The Boone County Clerk's posted schedule sets infraction costs at $135 plus fines or late fees, criminal costs at $185 plus court-assessed fees, and juvenile costs at $176, effective July 1, 2021. Confirm current amounts before paying. Juvenile records stay restricted, and the official Clerk cost page carries these dated figures.

Paying an eligible court balance online through Odyssey does not recall a warrant on its own. Ask the Boone County court directly. Find out whether an appearance, motion, or bond is also required to clear the active warrant.
Finding Your Own Name on the List
Never ignore a Boone County active warrant entry. Save the source date and any record reference, then talk to a lawyer. Ask the issuing court about a voluntary appearance, surrender instructions, bond, and whether a motion to recall or quash is available. A recall withdraws the warrant. Quashing sets it aside by court action. Boone local bail rules require any criminal bench-warrant bond to be endorsed on the warrant itself. Release may still hinge on an initial hearing, offense level, identity checks, conditions, and holds from another jurisdiction. No third party can guarantee release.
Important: Get legal and court instructions before surrendering or paying, and obtain official confirmation before treating a Boone County warrant as cleared.
An outstanding-warrant check happens at the jail in person with proper identification, per the Sheriff's FAQ. Nothing is given by phone. Keep every receipt, court date, filed paper, and confirmation number tied to your Boone County case.
